Florida Marlins -- the team of destiny

Dateline: NOW.

Florida Marlins make it back to .500 after being 20 games under .500. This is a feat that has not been accomplished by a professional baseball team for well over 100 years.

#3 in line, 2 games out of the wild card. Too young and reckless to know they're not supposed to be where they are.

Fear The Fish -- they are a

TEAM. OF. DESTINY.

.
Its going to be the Evil Empire vs Fish rematch in October...with the same results ;->

The Marlins have a good leader. However, their owner will fire Giradi at the end of the season and he will return to manage the Yankees. If the Yankees win it all Torre may retire and go into the Hall of fame. He has won more games than Earl Weaver and his accomplishments as a player are close.

Loria has been getting savaged on sports radio down here lately. The collective gestalt is that he's a moron and needs to just STFU.

For a rookie manager Girardi has been quite good. A few obvious boners here and there, but dramatically better than what the D-backs got when they sacked Bob Brenley in midseason (and promptly went into an even worse tailspin).

Owners do not listen to sports radio. If the Yankees do not sign Giaradi he will land with the Cubs.
I think the Cubs is a better fit. Steinbrenner has mellowed somewhat but this would not be a great fit.
