Growing up, I heard plenty of stories about how bad the FBI was from my family. Both of my parents were at one point federal agents with other agencies. My dad in particular, a career special agent with Customs, was particularly disgusted by their management. He frequently remarked when the FBI would be brought up in conversation that they had a conviction rate 1/4 of Customs' rate and that the FBI had a knack for taking others' cases and then snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in a case that should be have been a slam dunk case.
